June 4th.
We take the cable car up to Babele and step out onto the plateau. A light wind is blowing, just enough to remind you where you are.
We head straight into Valea Jepilor. Spring snow — a little dirty, but surprisingly good under the board. One of those days when the mountain no longer puts up a fight; it simply lets you through.
I don't get to see Sergiu very often. But whenever we meet up, the shots seem to frame themselves: drone in the air, camera down below, and everything else just flows naturally.
We also found a good spot: where the valley narrows, we moved some snow in from the side and dropped into the line with a short, clean drop.
We talk, squeeze in one more run before the light fades, then make our way down the mountain on foot via Jepii Mari.
Some places don't need to be found.
You simply return to them.
