From Babele to Peștera — one continuous descent through the Bucegi Mountains, where every section changes the rhythm while keeping the flow alive.

February, March, April. After every snowfall, the same impulse: head up into the Bucegi Mountains.I take the cable car from Bușteni and step straight into the white, surrounded by that deep silence that only comes after the snow has settled.
It all Babele begins at Babele — my breathing changes, my eyes start searching for the line, and the mountain opens up like a blank canvas.
The canvas: 8 frames
The first track after fresh snow.
You don't look for it. You recognize it.
The goal is simple: head towards Cimitirul Elefanților, then Valea Sugarilor, and farther down, all the way to the cable car. Every day has a different texture — sometimes the snow is light and fast, other times heavier, forcing me to pay attention to every turn. There are sections where I let the speed build and others where every movement needs to be precise — and every now and then, a patch of ice instantly brings me back to full attention.
The line pulls me in and carries me all the way down without a break. I don't stop to think too much — I react, feel, and adjust as I go. And when it's over, one thing is clear: I want one more run.

There's something beautiful about this line: it isn't new to the mountain. People have been skiing down here since the 1970s — back when snowboarding didn't even exist in Romania.
This is also a popular route for ski touring and splitboarding. I've crossed paths countless times with groups climbing up while I was riding down — and for a few seconds, the same line becomes two different stories.
